So I haven’t updated this blog for so long. I had to give up all my fitness classes in 2012 and had to have spinal surgery. It’s been such a long road, + 40kg and as unfit as I’ve ever been.
So how do you come back from that? How do you come back from chronic pain? I have two kids now and suffering chronic fatigue, while holding a full time job. Something has to give now, so it’s time for change.
I’ve realised that although I have a vast amount of knowledge of health, it hasn’t helped me through these more extreme circumstances with a severe injury, and I’ve realised that there’s a lot of people out there that are suffering and don’t have any answers. I’m going to try and find those answers, because for some people, it’s not just “mind over matter”. It’s not just “go hard or go home”. I used to be that person, fit and on the stage that thought people just need to be more motivated, just need more will power.
But. It’s. Not. That. Simple.
So 2019 is an opportunity to find a new way to get healthy. This is not a New Year’s Resolution. It’s not just diet. It’s not just exercise. Health is multi-faceted, and when there are complications like health conditions and injury, it makes it difficult to find the answers.
So which “thing” will get you motivated this year?
